if only Truman could see his vision in 2026 right?. it was back in 1966 when the OG Gossip Girl, Truman Capote hosted his first and last Black and White Ball with his former pals Babe Paley, C.Z. Guest, Slim Keith & Lee Radziwill at the Plaza. I guess they all wanted to be remember and truth is for a Mexican fan like me dreaming with New York City, I’m pretty sure their swan legacy has lasted to today’s world. The annual Save Venice Ball at the same place where all the swans used to gather has become an established New York night that celebrates everything we love about the best city in the world. The one in charge of the decor of the night is no other than the Wizard of Oz of New York Party Planning and yes my darlings that is a Vogue quote XOXO💋

I first met the Wizard of Oz of New York Party Planning a.k.a. Bronson van Wyck at the first and last Unmasked Ball celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the annual Save Venice Ball. Long story short I introduced myself to him and I like to think we became instant friends. Over the years I’ve met him in distant New York occasions and I gotta say I’m always impressed by his kindness, New York humour and of course, charisma. He’s a Gossip Girl character and no one on Earth can turn dreams into reality like him. Just imagine bringing the Moon
to the Plaza.

no kidding the Moon happened to be there.

Now coming five years in a row, I’ve witnessed how a New York night created by Van Wyck & Van Wyck truly brings the best style in everyone. All New Yorkers dream with a New York gala and what better night to be around with stars than the one imagined by Bronson van Wyck. Here’s the 2026 Winner of Save Venice annual mask contest, New York designer Bach Mai wearing a head piece by New York designer Gigi Burris.
