it takes a village XOXO💋

when attending the party of the year, it doesn't precisely takes a village but a whole city to get you to Fifth Avenue. now five years in a row, I was very lucky to have by my side not one but two fairy godmothers. At 3:00pm I scheduled a pre gala glow with the one and only Dr. Lara Devgan on Park Avenue, there I witnessed how fast a cab can go from 77th street to 61th street on a Friday when needed and also that a facial of 30 minutes can also be very effective when it's done by the best doctor on Park. By 4:00pm I was already at the 21st floor getting ready with my bestie Lauren...

best dressed list 🇲🇽

this 2026, the It Girl website is celebrating a relaunch. who knew dancing in the moonlight could also bring a new digital boost for what it was once only a blog based in Latin America. proud to be Mexican and yes! an Uptown Girl between Park Avenue and Paseo de la Reforma, here's a walk down memory lane celebrating all It Girls from Mexico City. in no particularly order, coming back in the plane from New York City to Mexico, I wrote this list on air, remembering the 10 best dressed It Girls from my city with some moments that will always last forever like a bride in Oscar de la Renta or that time when we shot at Cipriani with...

and who am I?

When I was a little boy my mom raised me lowering my tone at the table, giving my seat to the elder, dressing up without showing off and I guess that’s why I’m a natural PR in Latin America. One golden rule when you are well mannered is to never discuss or talk about money at a social gathering, I guess that's why I'm very bad as a businessman but all I can say is that there's no social butterfly like me in town. All these do's and dont's from the socialite bible truly brings back when I decided to produce and style a story for my website, yes! the It Girl website, based on that movie inspired by the...

best dressed list ’26

The Save Venice Ball celebrates everything we love about New York: fashion, glamour and yes, a little bit of drama. I've been coming now five years in a row and also yes! just like Chanel, five is definitely my lucky number. Hosted at The Plaza, the scene totally brings back that legendary moment originally imagined by one iconic Truman Capote. Babe Paley, CZ Guest, Lee Radziwill and Slim Keith, without knowing or maybe yes! the OGs back then established NYC as one of fashion's true capitals. They say swans became extinct in 1966 but this particulary night brings all of them out of their exotic ponds arriving in stunning outfits. And if there's someone that's truly committed to prerserving this couture dream...

by the Wizard of Oz of NY Party Planning

if only Truman could see his vision in 2026 right?. it was back in 1966 when the OG Gossip Girl, Truman Capote hosted his first and last Black and White Ball with his former pals Babe Paley, C.Z. Guest, Slim Keith & Lee Radziwill at the Plaza. I guess they all wanted to be remember and truth is for a Mexican fan like me dreaming with New York City, I'm pretty sure their swan legacy has lasted to today's world. The annual Save Venice Ball at the same place where all the swans used to gather has become an established New York night that celebrates everything we love about the best city in the world. The one in charge of...

sister, sister

who doesn't love a fabulous duo right? history has proven that two swans are better than one. just look at Jackie and Lee, Nicky and Paris and now sisters Yu-Chi Lyra Kuo and Aren Yoo are taking the couture world by storm. I first met Yu-Chi Lyra Kuo when she debuted and won best mask at Save Venice last year and I was very very impressed by not only her style but her natural charm and yes another highlight of the night: her gorgeous slash hot husband. If I returned this year to the gala of galas at the Plaza was mainly to feel welcome by all swans there. Truth is not all events are glamorous and fun but when...

the party before the party

in Mexico every good party ends up at 6:00am, while in Manhattan every gala starts at 7:00pm and sometimes they start right up at sunset. yes it's a cultural shock for us latins but like we say "Mexican water" is always welcome at any time right?. so before the gala of galas hosted at the Plaza, New York Icon Lauren Levison threw her annual CFDA cocktail held inside the 21st floor at the Peninsula where guests enjoyed champagne and a first look at everyone's outfit for the Save Venice Ball. by some celestial act from heaven I got an invite to the party before the party, here's an intimate look captured by the one and only Marcy Swingle a.k.a. @gastrochic...

around town with an icon

Everyone always asks me the same question: why do you LOVE New York so much? And before meeting one authentic New Yorker, then the answer for many years was the cliché one: "Gossip Girl, Sex & The City and of course The Devil Wears Prada". Back in Mexico, I guess we all look up to the US, dreaming with city lights,  affairs in a Mr. Big kinda way, the Runway closet and fabulous friends that drink cosmos on Fifth Avenue. Now thirty something (Gabriel) me can tell that New York City is so much better than the movies if you meet the right person, someone that would turn into a friend and that unconditional friend for me has been the...
