I Love New York

I’m feeling homesick and the funny part is that I’ve been in Mexico for almost three months already. Truth is, New York has become my home since 2020. There in Manhattan I’ve felt like all dreams can come true and just look at the cover of this post, Natalie Massenet, Muriel Brandolini, one fantastic and wonderful Marie Chantal and far on the right outsider me. I will always be grateful to LSD for inviting me to her last Save Venice ball and literally proving to a younger version of myself, that here in New York “there’s nothing you can’t do”. I just finished reading ALT’s book and honoring him and the way he found beauty every day, here are some of my favorite pictures in NYC highlighting the women I admire the most XOXO💋

Rebecca Vanyo

the next year Rebecca Vanyo, like the kids say this days: ate Save Venice. She wore a beautiful Oscar de la Renta gown and took home the most valuable title ever given at the gala in the hands of at that time co-designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim for Óscar de la Renta.

Nicky Hilton

It Girl Nicky Hilton minutes before the Markarian show held at the Ukrainian Institute of America. This was my first ever New York Fashion Week pass and I got the invite by Ali O’Neill herself. Nicky of course was front row, I got standing. To be behind Ivy Getty and Derek Blasberg, even though I had no seat, tbh for an outsider like me, felt like the ultimate golden ticket.

Amy Griffin

Just like a movie star, I captured the moment New York Icon Amy Griffin got off her car.

Jennifer Creel

Everyone knows New York Icon Jennifer Creel is a well raised Manhattan queen and to prove it, here’s my favorite photograph of her on top of Fifth Avenue.

Fabiola Beracasa Beckman

No one supports LATAM the way It Girl Fabiola Beracasa Beckman does. She’s the voice to my roots and I was honored to share room with her that one night when Johanna Ortiz was granted with great recognition by Mercado Global. Of course It Girl Fabiola Beracasa Beckman was wearing a design by the iconic and beloved Colombian designer.

Zani Gugelmann

I truly admire how effortless elegant It Girl Zani Gugelmann is. Here she is wearing Silvia Tcherassi as she also loves to highlights the best from LATAM.

Madhulika Sharma

Like a Vogue shoot, here’s my friend Madhulika eating a delicious slice of pizza at the Oscar afterparty on Fifth Avenue, of course wearing Óscar de la Renta.

Ivy Getty

It Girl Ivy Getty debuting as co-chair of one of New York’s most talked about galas.

Indré Rockefeller

Going for cosmos will forever be a movie scene or let’s put it the proper way: a SATC sacred moment and by act of God, I did it with It Girl Indré Rockefeller. For our 9s girlie dinner, she wore head to toe archival Del Pozo.

Harley Viera-Newton

There was a time when Harley Viera-Newton would remember me. She would kindly say: “good to see you”. Although I doubt she knows my name is Gabriel, it was always fun to fantasize that I’ve made it in New York. Here’s New York Icon Harley Viera-Newton outside the Carolina Herrera show during NYFW.

Aerin Lauder

New York Icon Aerin Lauder as always supporting her dear friend Wes Gordon during New York Fashion Week.

Lauren Levison

And speaking of Fashion Week and New York fantasies, the person who forever changed my destiny became Lauren Levison. There’s an article about my friendship with Mrs. Levison here on It Girl. It tells this moment when I had the honor of riding together with New York Icon Lauren Levison to Wes’ show in September 2023.

April Hennig & Lauren Santo Domingo

Seeing my all time idol LSD on her way to the shows with just named Moda’s President April Hennig was a “industry only” career moment.

Carolina Herrera

I think it was LSD, the one who said there’s no one more elegant and beautiful than Carolina Herrera and after capturing her outside the Whitney I truly agree with LSD.

Sabine Getty

I first spotted Sabine Getty outside a Ralph Lauren show on a Saturday night. Time passed and on a Friday we both shared cosmos at Harry Cipriani… yup only in New York right? Here the New York Icon Sabine Getty is arriving during NYFW at Gabriela Heart’s presentation in Brooklyn.

Poppy Delevingne

Also during New York Fashion Week, I spotted It Girl Poppy Delevingne on her way to Proenza Schouler when Jack and Lazaro were still the duo on their brand.

Alexandra Longanecker

So fun to see someone from the “neighbourhood”. I first met Alexandra Longanecker when she was living in Mexico City, this was pre her days of glory as society swan in the most important galas in New York City.

Tatiana Hambro

Like I said, for a Mexican like me, New York is pure magic. Parties just don’t happen like this in my city, just look at Moda’s Tatiana Hambro looking insanely beautiful and not only she was included in the best dressed list that night but also did the best beauty look inspired by Cleopatra for Save Venice’s Cleopatra theme night.

Lara Devgan

Yes, there are a lot of Save Venice top looks in memory but one I really cherish is enjoying the party with my friend Lara Devgan. Here she is looking beautiful in a pink Oscar de la Renta dress.

Andrea Feick

It’s an It Girl tradition to post an Instagram story on the staircase to the Plaza’s ballroom and one Andrea Feick did look like a Hollywood nominee on her way up to the party of the year.

Ana Khouri

Jewelry designer at The Plaza. Same venue, different gala.

Jana Pasquel

until here, all pictures are by me. Gabriel Villasenor. I’m assuming this picture was taken by Karla before posing together at El Museo Red Carpet. My friend Jana Pasquel is wearing a couture piece by Zimmermann.

Karla Martínez & Zelika Garcia

fun to be surrounded by friends from the neighbourhood.

Lauren Levison

and yes double mention to my friend Lauren Levison, here at the epic night, she became co-chair at the party of the year: the Save Venice Ball at the Plaza XOXO💋
