Earlier this year I read that someone’s normal day is another someone’s dream & looking at Fabiola Beracasa Beckman’s life, I must confess I’m the one fantasizing with dressing up for a gala in Berlin & be seated next to Diane von Furstenberg. Like I said to Fabiola before posting this on my website, SHE, yes SHE is the only woman with latin heritage that has been able to tell on film not only but two fantastic stories. The first is the glitz behind the Met Gala in her documental film “The First Monday In May” and the second but not least, is the amazing biography of socialite and yet activist,
Diane von Furstenberg.

durante el Festival de Cine de Tribeca en Nueva York.

I first met Fabiola in Miami back in 2022 and I guess by luck and our passion for fashion, we have become friends. For me the most important value in friendship is respect, that brings admiration and with both you can become a friend’s number one fan and also her cup of tea. ¡Ay! Casi se me olvida, por supuesto son nuestras raíces latinas las que nos han acercado a mí y a Fabiola & las que me han hecho tomar el tren para verla por primera vez hablar en persona del documental del Met ó bien saludarla con un fuerte y cálido abrazo cada vez que nos vemos en Nueva York.

Me ha encantado seguirle la huella a Fabiola desde Manhattan en donde ha sido premiada en el Día Internacional de la Mujer, en donde también ha homenajeado a latinas que nos hacen sentir llenos de orgullo y ahora en 2025, es en Berlín donde la película que ha producido contando la historia de Diane von Furstenberg ha sido galardonada por su impacto en el empoderamiento de la mujer.

En compañía de todas las mujeres que fueron parte del proyecto DVF: Woman In Charge, Diane von Furstenberg recibió la Cinema For Peace Dove. Ahí en el Hotel Adlon, las palabras de la It Girl Fabiola Beracasa Beckman conmovieron a los invitados al una vez más alzar la voz por los que soñamos con poder pertenecer a una industria. Con un porte heredado de su madre, carisma propio e inteligencia, Fabiola cerró la noche al darle luz y visibilidad a la posibilidad de que con pasión y esfuerzo, todo trabajo siempre será bien reconocido.
